Work wear is always a tough call for me. I want to look polished and put-together without looking too much like an office drone, and it's sometimes tough to strike that perfect balance five days a week. Plus, throw in the fact that I'm totally not a morning person and combine it with the fact that I rarely pre-plan any outfit the night before, and you have a recipe for disaster. Basically, it's my closet vs. me every morning, and I'll be the first to admit I win less than I'd like.
Since wins are so very tough, I figured I'd take this Monday morning to celebrate a recent victory, featuring this floral neoprene skirt that was a birthday gift from a friend. It's a great length--long enough to be professional, but short enough to save it from being too stuffy. And best of all, the neoprene material makes it thick enough that I can tuck in a top without worrying too much about any bulging. Perfection! (P.S., I did a little online hunting, and found a similar-style neoprene skirt on sale for less than $15 here!)
I added a light pink blouse that I scored on final sale for around $15 from the always super-profesh LOFT. It's light and airy and ideal for spring, and it's also still currently on sale, though this time for a few extra bucks more (just $22.50 with the extra 50% off currently being offered). I finished off the look with a pair of Nine West kitten heels ($27) from TJMaxx, plus a gifted black bag and $6 street vendor sunnies. Head to toe, the whole look came out to around $48.
