Things always get so busy around the holidays that New Year's kinda sneaks up on me. I get the gift shopping done, wrap everything up, organize family dinners and then, when I think it's finally time to kick back and relax, everyone's asking about my New Year's Eve plans and the stress levels start to go back up. It's especially challenging to celebrate NYE in NYC, with a million tourists descending onto the city, causing prices to spike, cabs to be scarce and creating an overall logistical nightmare. But luckily, the one thing I don't have to stress about this NYE is my outfit, as Tobi was kind enough to send over this gorgeous metallic bodycon set over, and I'm completely smitten.
I've normally gone the tiny-cocktail-dress route for New Year's past, but this two-piece set is even better. The bodycon shape, crop top and gold shimmer definitely keep things party-ready, but let's face it, it's often FREEZING here during NYE, and the added combo of sweater-style fabric and extra-long sleeves make this outfit as cozy as it is cute. It's also totally on sale right now for just $46, and I can definitely see myself mixing the skirt and top with a variety of different pieces this winter, meaning I can find ways to keep rocking it long after the ball's dropped.
I paired the bodycon set with some black patent booties I scored on sale from Public Desire for $22 (this pair is sold out, but I've linked to a similar patent pair on sale for just $25 below!), a black clutch that came c/o Boohoo.com (still available in nude for $30 here). Adding in my $10 street vendor sunnies, the whole outfit total around $78.
