Been MIA for a little while catching up on stuff, but I'm back on the grid! I spent a long weekend in Chicago to cheer on my hubby at the Chicago Marathon, and we had such a great time strolling around the city and enjoying the gorgeous fall weather. Anytime I'm traveling, though, I'm super picky about what shoes I pack, since I prefer seeing most cities by foot as much as possible, and if you wear the wrong shoes, it can put a huge damper on things (and possibly a huge blister on your foot!).
These super affordable faux-suede boots from Amazon ($40) ended up being the perfect travel shoe for my Chicago trip--they were comfy enough to walk around in all day, and they were lightweight and really easy to pack. Plus, the drawstring ties at the back meant that I could adjust them for a perfect fit. And I got a ton of compliments on them! I'm already considering snapping them up in another color.
The boots paired perfectly with a long-sleeved burgundy dress that came c/o Lulus (they have a very similar one available here, for $39). I'm a huge fan of the Lulus brand (I even dressed my bridesmaids in gorgeous gowns from the site!), and this mini has been on serious repeat recently, either dressed up for date nights or with a denim jacket for more casual outings. I finished off the look with a gifted black leather bag and a pair of $10 street vendor sunnies, bringing my look to just around $50.
