Pretty + Pink W/ Shabby Apple

shabby apple blogger review

Hey guys! Excited to kick off this year with a serious pop of color, c/o Shabby Apple. If you haven't heard of them, they're an awesome online clothing retailer that stocks everything from tulle skirts to retro-style swimwear, and I love that a lot of their stuff has a vintage, 50s-ish vibe, but with a modern twist. Some of their clothing is at the higher end (think $100+), but there's plenty in the $50-$70 range, and they also run plenty of sales and promos. They were kind enough to send this gorgeous pink dress (currently on sale for around $64) before the holiday break, and just putting it on is enough to make me wish it was springtime.

This is a perfectly girly piece that has "party dress" written all over it, and fixes the fact that I don't have anything this shade of jewel-tone pink in my closet. (Every girl should have a pink power dress, a la Elle Woods, no?) It's also got just the right amount of festive shimmer, without being TOO much. And best of all, it's got some stretch to it, making it surprisingly comfy.

I paired the dress with a silver and black belt ($6, from NY&Co) and a pair of classic black heels ($25, from Rena Reborn), and kept everything else pretty minimal. I'll probably rock this look to a party or wedding once it warms up a bit, but for now, I'm thinking I could also easily winterize it with a pair of tights, some booties and a cropped jacket. I also think it could make a really cute (and relatively affordable!) bridesmaid's dress. Who knew a bright pink dress could be so versatile?? And P.S., if you're thinking of ordering from Shabby Apple, they're having a sitewide 30%-75% off sale with the code 'SITEWIDE30'. Happy hunting!
