My love for online consignment store thredUP is well documented--I've definitely waxed poetic about some of my favorite steals and deals from the site in the past, and I could seriously spend all day scrolling through their never ending selection of gently used (and sometimes totally brand-new-with-tags) items. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when they were kind enough to send some store credit my way...I couldn't wait to get shopping.
BUT. It being early days into the New Year and all, I cooled my heels and decided to put a little more thought and deliberation into my shopping spree. After one too many thoughtless impulse buys (which have since led to an out of control closet situation) one of my big style resolutions for 2016 is to buy a little less, and go with quality over quantity. And following that major rule, one of my secondary resolutions is to get a little more color into my wardrobe, which has been leaning pretty heavily toward neutrals lately.
Luckily, I stumbled across this adorable Leifsdottir romper while scrolling thredUP, and was instantly smitten. Not only was it still brand-new-with-tags, but it was also under $50, and since Leifsdottir-branded pieces typically retail for well over $100 at Anthropologie, this was a steal. Plus, it checked all my resolution boxes. Instead of buying several cheaper items, I went with one versatile item that can be easily styled for winter, spring AND fall, and it's a gorgeous shade of red that I'm currently missing in my closet. I consider that a definite win-win.
If you're new to thredUP and thinking of giving them a try, they're currently offering 40% off your first purchase for new customers, which is a crazy good deal. Just a heads up though, get ready to get totally lost for hours scouring the site for deals and filling up that shopping cart. Don't say I didn't warn ya. Happy hunting! xo
