Last week, I had the honor of meeting vintage maven Monique of The Bargain District. She's curated an amazing collection of vintage and designer clothing and accessories (which you can shop every weekend at Artists and Fleas' Williamsburg outpost!), so I was pretty much in heaven when she invited me over to pull a couple items from her closet to style. Believe me when I say it was reallllly hard to settle on just one look!
I ended up channeling the 70s in this vintage denim skirt, paired with a gorgeous brocade crop top by Peter Som and a vintage crochet vest, all from The Bargain District. Monique was even indirectly responsible for my shoe score, since she gave me the heads up about a great street fair/flea market on West 44th St. on Saturday, and I was able to snag these patent leather Marc by Marc Jacobs heels (which are also giving off some 70s vibes!) for just $10. (Sometimes the best time to shop a flea is right before close--it gives you way more haggling leverage!) I finished off the look with some round sunnies that were a hand-me-down from a friend, and a random collection of bangles.
Whether you're an avid vintage lover, or looking to find your first perfect vintage piece, I definitely recommend checking out The Bargain District at Artists and Fleas. Not only is Monique a total sweetheart, but she's also got an amazing eye for pieces that are perfectly of their era, but still give off a modern feel. Also, you can check out her personal style, plus see more items from her collection, on her blog and Instagram. Happy hunting! xoxo
