We're headed for a rainy weekend, according to the weather reports, so I'm digging into the archives to bring out this classic rain-ready look from last month. If there's one outerwear piece I wear more than any other, it's a trusty trench coat. I used to sport this $20 trench that I had scored wayyy back when at TJMaxx, but for my birthday back in May, my fiance surprised me with a brand new one from Zara (similar one available here, and on sale!). Although the lighter color is a bit more high-maintenance (it'll def need more dry cleanings), I love that it has way more structure and polish than my old trench, which has now been officially demoted to my walking-the-dog coat.
I wore the trench on my way to a volunteer event at the American Museum of Natural History, and since the dress code called for cocktail attire, I went with one of my fave little black dresses, a simple one-shoulder black number scored at Underground Thrift's Stuff a Sack sale for $1.50. I finished off the look with a pair of $5 nude heels from Cauz for Pawz and a pair of $6 sunnies, bringing the head-to-toe look to $12.50.
