When you're in a huge rush and don't have time to sift through your closet, the easiest thing to do is throw on a bunch of black clothing, amirite?? This was my strategy last Friday, when I had about an hour and a half to get home from work, meet a friend on the UES and then shuttle down to Brooklyn for a play. My work look was totally blahhh (as are most of the outfits I try to put together in a foggy pre-8am haze!), so during my limited time at home, I grabbed the first black-hued items I could get my hands on.
I started the look off with a black skirt with sheer panels, which was one of my $1 finds from the recent Buffalo Exchange $1 Sale, and added a black top, which I snagged at the Depop Closet Sale for $5. I topped it off with a black vintage coat ($10, from last year's Thrift Disco) and a funky necklace ($0, hand-me-down from a friend!). With a pair of $6 street vendor sunnies and my $45 Dorothy Perkins boots, the whole last minute look came out to $67.
