Since blue is my favorite color, I've accumulated a ton of blue clothing over the years, some picked out by moi, and others items gifted to me by friends and family who know how much I love the hue. So it's totally no surprise that I ended up matching the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront last week in a head-to-toe blue look (incidentally, even my nails were blue!). For the weekend outing, I kept things casual in a comfy American Apparel navy dress that I snagged for $0 at the Ethical Writers Co.'s Spring Fashion Swap, and also rocked a pair of amazing denim wedge sandals by Bhava Studio--another swap find, believe it or not.
To keep the oceanfront breeze at bay, I layered with a light blue button-up (scored for just $2 from a friend's closet clear-out sale last summer), and then finished off the look with pair of recent birthday gifts, including a gorgeous blue leather backpack from my mom and a lovely turquoise and silver necklace from blogger buddy Sunita V. (They know me better than they know myself!) The whole look, including my $6 street vendor sunnies, came out to $8.
