I can be a terrible procrastinator sometimes. A prime example being the fact that I've been meaning to make some super-simple sewing adjustments to this light blue, heart-print Zara dress for over a year. The dress was a gift from my buddies Sunita V. and Emily Ann, and I've been dying to wear it, so it really makes no sense why I didn't just get my ish together and just thread a needle!
The good news is I FINALLY got around to making the adjustments--which took a total of 10 minutes--over the weekend. Given the tiny heart print, I figured it was the perfect dress for a subtle, not-too-sugary-sweet Valentine's Day look. But since it's still wayyy too cold in NYC to be wearing a cutout dress, I layered a cozy white turtleneck (just $0.99 from Thredup!) underneath.
I added some extra warmth with some tights and my Dorothy Perkins boots ($45), and finished off the outfit with a pair of $6 street vendor sunnies, a gold necklace and a pair of rhinestone earrings, both from my latest Rocksbox subscription. (P.S., get a month of Rocksbox free with the code "christinaxoxo1"!) With my $5 secondhand bag, the whole head-to-toe look came out to $32.
