Since winter's been dragging here in NYC, I've been trying to find ways to stay warm without having to add too many heavy layers. (Too many layers = instant hot flashes on the subway!) My solution lately has been to wear cute, form-fitting knit turtlenecks (like this one I wore a few weeks ago), which are snug enough to keep me nice and warm without adding unnecessary bulk. Plus, they're pretty darn cute.
I scored both this dark gray turtleneck and the navy pleated skirt for just $0.99 each during ThredUp's recent 99-cent sale, and decided to pair them with a few of my more luxe pieces, including a gold branch-inspired necklace (gifted) and my vintage camel coat ($20, from the Salvation Army Coat Sale).
I finished off the look with some $6 street vendor sunnies, as well as a pair of black leather boots ($98), which were a recent splurge purchased from Amazon's MyHabit. (You can find the same pair here, but MyHabit tends to slightly fluctuate pricing on items, which is kinda annoying--right now they're hiked up to $120.) Head to toe, the whole look came out to $126.
