I hate when perfectly cute clothes end up sitting unworn for way too long, since it makes me feel guilty for buying them in the first place. If I've only worn it once, did I REALLY need it? Really?? So when I come across something and have one of those "omg, why have I not worn this recently?" moments, my solution is usually to figure out a new way to style it so I can avoid the internal guilt trip and get a littttleee more milage out of my closet.
This Zara mini dress (nabbed on sale for $20) is Adorable with a capital A, but for some reason, I've only worn it once last summer. When I rediscovered it while rummaging through the back of my closet, I knew I had to take it out for a second round, but it being the dead of winter, I also knew I needed a few extra layers. Thank god for tights and thrifted turtlenecks! Seriously, a knit turtleneck in a neutral color is perfect for taking most dresses straight from summer into fall and THEN into winter, and most thrift stores are chock full of them. Luckily, I stocked up on this cream-colored one during a ThredUp sale, scoring it for just $0.99.
I finished off my layered look with my new fave pair of booties from Primark ($26), and a pair of sunnies c/o WowVintage. Head to toe, the whole look came out to around $47.
