However, all opinions are my own!
Despite the fact that I'm not the most athletically-gifted person in the world, I love the whole athleisure look that's been trending lately--I mean, what's not to love about comfy sneakers, cute yoga pants and cozy hoodies? So I was super pumped to partner with DICK's Sporting Goods to raid one of their awesome stores (with a generous gift card!) and put together my own athleisure-inspired outfit. I hit up DICK's Ridge Hill location up near Yonkers with Koko in tow last week, on the hunt for the key component to any on-trend athletic look--a sick pair of sneakers. And before heading out, I saved a few fashion blogger and celeb photos on my phone for shopping inspo, including these three:
As you can tell, I like my athleisure heavy on the athletic, light on the leisure! Since my main focus was finding a pair of cute kicks, I headed straight to the women's shoe section with Koko, and started trying on some shoes.
After trying on several great pairs of Nikes (DICK's had a pretty impressive selection, and I had no problem finding stuff in my size!), I finally narrowed it down to a gray pair of Nike Zoom Pegasus 32 running shoes ($109.99). But this being a budget-conscious blog, I made sure to grab a pair of "Display" shoes, which had no signs of wear, and also meant that I automatically got 10% off. Score! My next money-saving move was to do a quick coupon check, and I was able to take advantage of a DICK's offer for $20 off any purchase over $100, which brought the purchase down to $82.84 with tax. Moral of the story: it never hurts to do a coupon search right before check out!
Obviously, I was super excited to take my new running shoes out, so for an afternoon dog walk, I went full on athleisure with some of my fave sporty pieces, including a pair of patterned Nike leggings, which my husband gifted to me, probably in the hopes that they would motivate me to join him on his marathon-training runs. (They didn't. But I still love wearing them to lounge in!)
Inspired my fave blogger looks, I added a gray tied-around-the-waist hoodie (thrifted forever ago for around $5), which does the double duty of keeping things a bit more modest, and providing some emergency warmth if needed. I finished off the look with a plain black baseball cap and black crop top, both of which are cheap ebay finds. But obviously, the star of the show are the sneakers, which I'm currently getting as much wear out of as possible before temps drop too much here in NY. Hope to post more athleisure outfits with these babies soon! xo
