One of the few fashion "rules" I try to abide by is that if you're going short and tight on the bottom, it's best to go a bit more covered up on top (and vice versa). I stuck to that golden rule Monday night, when I headed out for an impromptu rooftop hangout with a couple of girlfriends, and once again dipped into the pile of goodies I scored at my friend's recent closet clean-out sale (you check out more cute finds I got from her purge here and here!).
My Monday night look included a pair of cream faux-leather shorts ($3) and a flowy, vintage-inspired black top ($2), both from my friend's closet, plus an oversized black bag I bought off her for just $5. (!!!) The bag is super lightweight and was perfect for fitting all my junk for that night, including the pair of emergency flats I usually have on hand.
I finished off the look with an amazing BaubleBar necklace (gifted), last worn here, and the $5 heels I dug out of the Cauz for Pawz basement. (The necklace is currently sold out--no surprise there--but you can still join a waiting list for it.) Head to toe, with my street vendor sunnies ($6), the whole ensemble came out to just $21.
