And we're back from the break! While most NYers take off for Memorial Day weekend, the thought of bumper to bumper traffic and crowded train stations usually cures me of any and all getaway cravings. I decided to stick around and relax this past weekend, and got to enjoy a half-empty and relatively quiet city (not counting the usual tourist hot spots).
On Saturday, I was particularly lazy, hanging around my Brooklyn neighborhood and, after some early rain cleared up, lounging on my building's rooftop. Even though I was still in the urban jungle, I dressed a bit beachy with a comfy tribal-print jumpsuit gifted by a friend, and kept the sun off my face with a straw fedora thrifted for me by Sunita V. from The Sharing Place.
Since the majority of my look was gifted, it's hard to come up with a head-to-toe cost on this one, but I definitely saved some serious $$$ on my shoes, which I scored at Cauz for Pawz for just $5 earlier this spring. My necklace, meanwhile, is a $10 score from Buffalo Exchange.
