Back bright and early on a Monday with a mini post! Loving this gorgeous spring weather, which makes waking up at 6:30am just a little bit easier. My weekend was chock full of excitement, starting with some wedding dress shopping on Saturday morning at Housing Works' annual Bride on a Buck event. While I didn't find THE dress, I did find an adorable white mini perfect for the reception or other wedding-related party. The event was even better than expected, with a good mix of like-new and brand-new dresses (including ones by Vera Wang, Sue Wong and other designers) all priced around $125-$175.
Things got even more exciting later in the day, when some of my friends decided to surprise me with an early birthday brunch party at Antibes Bistro on the Lower East Side that afternoon. I was SUPER surprised, and we had a ton of fun practically taking over the restaurant, which was perfectly cozy and hidden away from the usual over-crowded LES brunch scene. (Thanks guys!)
Then, on Sunday, my family came down to the city for a birthday/Mother's Day brunch at Jeepney, a Filipino fusion restaurant in the East Village. I wore a beautiful blue and green BB Dakota dress Sunita V gifted me for my birthday, and paired it with my Calvin Klein denim jacket I scored for just $5 at Unique Thrift Store. With a pair of black wedges ($35, TJMaxx) and some cheap sunnies ($1.50, Forever 21), the whole celebratory look came out to under $42!
