A Big Fat Greek Sunday

This weekend was a whirlwind! Saturday morning, I met up with my aunt and uncle, who were in town from L.A. After picking them up at Hotel on Rivington and grabbing a quick breakfast at Freeman's, we headed to the Guggenheim for the museum's Carrie Mae Weems LIVE event, and afterwards, I rushed home to squeeze in a quick dinner before going back uptown for a birthday party. Sunday, I woke up early to run errands in Queens, and then shuttled back to downtown Manhattan for a family dinner at Souvlaki GR, an adorable little Greek restaurant, and some post-dinner coffee at WhyNot Coffee & Wine. With my uncle as photographer, I was able snap a few photos outside Souvlaki, and was even joined by a random stranger who wanted to get in on the action, haha.

Since Sunday was pretty chilly and breezy, I layered up with an asymmetrical Zara sweater ($8) from Housing Works, and my classic trench coat (scored on sale at TJ Maxx for $20).

In case of rain, I sported a blue hat from Amazon ($10.80, last worn here), and then kept things comfy and casual with my $7 boyfriend jeans from Unique Thrift Store and the ankle boots Sunita V. thrifted for me at a Housing Works Buy The Bag sale for what likely boiled down to a buck or two. Head to toe, the whole outfit came out to roughly $47.
