Hey thrifters! I've taken a mini blogging break over the past few days--work and the winter blues got the best of me at the end of February, but I'm all recharged and ready to kick off my first post of the month. So far, March has definitely been more lion than lamb, but last weekend brought a bit of sunshine, and I decided to wear a grape-colored faux leather skirt I picked up at Alphabets in the East Village on Saturday. Because the shop was moving (as in, actually moving, not pretend "moving" in an effort to entice naive tourists!), all clothing was 70% off, and I snagged this baby--originally priced at $72--for around $20.
I styled the skirt with one of my favorite casual finds, a shrunken "Universitas Indonesia" sweatshirt I found at Cauz for Pawz for around $2, and layered with an old gray duster (cost unknown). I finished off the look with a gifted silver chain necklace and my black Zara pumps from Rena Reborn ($25). Head to toe, the look came out to $47.
After snapping some photos in DUMBO, I headed to Boerum Hill to meet with fellow Brooklyn blogger Molly (you can check out her finds on thedriftingthrifter!), then took the subway into Manhattan for dinner and drinks at Common Ground with an old college friend. All in all, a perfect way to cure my workweek cabin fever.
