Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style and city living. Hope you have a nice stay!

Rocksbox Rocks

Just before the holidays hit, Rocksbox reached out and graciously offered me a free trial of their jewelry subscription service. And naturally, being a lover of all things shiny, shimmery and sparkly, I accepted. I'd previously heard a bit about the company, which can best described as a sort of Netflix for jewelry, and was excited to give it a try. Plus, I'd never actually signed up for any kind of subscription box (I'm so late to the game, I know!), and figured now was as good a time as any!

For those of you unfamiliar with Rocksbox, here's a breakdown of how the $19-a-month service works: First, you create an online account and complete a style survey, which helps Rocksbox figure out your likes and dislikes. Then Rocksbox sends you three pieces that fit your style/preferences, and you can borrow and wear them as long as you like. When you're ready for a new set, you just send the jewelry back (Rocksbox keeps it extra easy by including a pre-paid return slip), OR, if you're in love with any pieces and don't want to return them, you can buy them for a discounted price instead.

After I completed the Rocksbox survey and signed up, my first jewelry set shipped pretty quickly, and I loved the fact that I could track the package's progress online. Once it arrived, I was most impressed with the cute packaging, which included a personalized note, some sparkly tissue paper and individual pouches for each piece. I mean, who doesn't love coming home to a beautifully wrapped gift box?!

My first jewelry set included a House of Harlow 1960 Deco-inspired necklace, a trio of gold chevron rings and some cute rhinestone studs, all three of which definitely fit my style, while still being different from the sort of stuff I usually purchase. I was also impressed by the quality, since I wore them on and off throughout my Florida vacay, and they all survived plenty of wear and even some inadvertent dips in the pool without incident.

As a holiday bonus, Rockbox was also sweet enough to gift me a cute little "shine" necklace. Adorbs!

All in all, Rocksbox has definitely won me over. While I don't see myself purchasing a ton of pieces to keep, I think $19 for an unlimited selection of stylish jewelry is a great value for people like me, who tend to wear new accessories a TON at first, but tire of them quickly and eventually abandon them at the bottom of a drawer (terrible habit, I know!). Plus, the quality far exceeds that of the usual fast fashion baubles I often end up buying. If you think the service sounds up your alley, you can get a month's subscription to Rocksbox for just $9 by using the code BEYOURBRIGHTEST and give it a go for yourself. xoxo!
