Sometimes I'll have a piece of clothing that gets stuck in a rut. As in, I'll have a dress that I only wear out at night, or a top that I strictly save for work, even though a little styling could easily make them appropriate for other occasions. This black and white skirt ($5.50), which I purchased from Forever21 a long, long time ago, was a piece I had only ever worn out to drinks and/or dinner, typically paired with the same black chiffon button-up EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I decided to switch things up a bit on Sunday, and wear the skirt while running some errands, since with tights, it's actually pretty comfortable. But obviously, a black chiffon top and heels would be a bit much, so I dressed everything down by pairing it with a super-soft long sleeve top, purchased for $1.50 from Underground Thrift Store. I added a simple gold choker from BaubleBar (gifted), and with my black Dorothy Parker boots ($67), the whole look came out to $74.
