2014 is clearly turning into the year of the blanket/oversized scarf. And I couldn't be happier, because regular-sized scarves just don't cut it, and I've forever been on the hunt for a scarf big and cozy enough to keep NYC's wind tunnel-like cold at bay.
I'd been eyeing this one from Madewell, but obviously the tag was a little steep for my limited scarf budget. But luckily I stumbled across this similar scarf on Ebay for just $20. Now, Ebay can sometimes be a bit iffy (sometimes photos of items can be deceiving!), but this scarf totally exceeded my expectations--it's super soft, looked exactly as pictured and arrived faster than promised. Score!
I took my new scarf out for a spin this weekend, pairing it with tights and some J. Crew shorts (a $20 outlet find), plus a gray H&M sweater (also $20). I finished off the look with my Dorothy Perkins ankle boots ($67, also worn here!), and my thrifted navy peacoat ($10). Head to toe, with a pair of $6 sunnies, the whole outfit came out to $143.
