NYC got hit with a second round of snow this week, and with all the ice, slush and puddles building up outside, it's safe to say that I'm somewhat homebound for the next few days. Luckily, before the storm and the subsequent cabin fever hit, I managed to make it out Bushwick for a brunch with friends on my Monday off. We found a cozy little French cafe and warmed up with coffee and crepes, then hit the streets nearby to take a few photos. Later on, we went west to Williamsburg to grab a few happy hour drinks, and then I headed back home to unwind before kicking off the work week.
Since I recently made that New Year's resolution to buy less and make do with what I already have, I was inspired to re-purpose my New Year's Eve dress (a last-minute, $15 buy from H&M) for a more casual outing. I paired the black and white dress with a bright blue, off-the-shoulder sweater ($4, Salvation Army), and my black Zara heels from Rena Reborn ($25).
I added a vintage white purse ($0.55, last worn here!) and a gold necklace ($2.99, Goodwill), then finished off the look with a pair of gorgeous vintage-style sunglasses, c/o WowVintage. (WowVintage has a great selection of vintage-inspired and on-trend eyewear, the majority of which are well under $20. You can snag the pair I'm wearing for just $12 here!) Head to toe, the full off-duty look came out to around $48.
