Happy Friday thrifters! Last week I made a trip to the Beacon's Closet in Williamsburg, which I decided is sort of like the cool older sister of the consignment world. The huge store is chock full of high-end labels and on-trend pieces, as well as one-of-a-kind vintage finds, which makes it so much fun to sift through. Unfortunately, sift is all I did during my visit, since admittedly, the pricing is a bit high (most items were over $20, and quite a few were over $50) and the sheer volume of amazing finds makes it hard to pare things down to just a few items. If you're looking for a modest splurge though, Beacon's is a great option to find something cool and unique without dropping a major wad of cash.
For the more cash-strapped, Beacon's does offer rotating discounts on certain tag colors, which means there are some fantastic deals. Keep in mind, however, it can definitely take a while to dig out those discounted items, which are hidden among the regularly-priced merch. Other perks include the store's generous dressing room space (rarely a line to wait in!), as well as its proximity to Brooklyn Brewery, which is right across the street. I definitely recommend stopping by Beacon's if you're in the area, and even if you don't find an amazing deal, perusing the shop's well-stocked racks is definitely a fun way to kill an afternoon.
