After a mellow, relaxing holiday weekend, it's finally time to start prepping for fall. I hit up a few thrift sales in search of cooler-weather finds on Sunday, and ended up hitting the jackpot by scoring TWO pairs of leather boots and an oversized tweed blazer for $0.55 each at a Housing Works Buy The Bag sale. On Monday, I headed out to Unique Thrift Store's 50% off Labor Day sale and dug up a cute J. Crew boucle skirt for just $4. (Stay tuned for photos of the haul!)
But despite September's arrival, it's still pretty hot here in the city, and I spent most of the weekend enjoying some of my summer faves before it's too late. I took my yellow lace tank ($1.50, from Underground Thrift's Stuff A Sack sale and last worn here) back out for a spin, pairing it with a striped skirt ($10, American Apparel warehouse sale) and black and gold belt (cost unknown). I also added one of my brand new Sunday Buy The Bag finds--a gorgeous, vintage white chain mail purse ($0.55). The look came out to just over $12, minus the belt, and head-to-toe with shoes ($25, Rena Reborn), the full outfit totaled around $37.
