I picked up this Michael Kors one-shoulder top at Underground Thrift's Stuff A Sack sale last month, despite the fact I'm not the world's biggest fan of ruffles. But once I figured out that it would end up costing little more than a $1, I tossed it in my sack, and I'm so happy I did. Once I tried it on at home, I fell in love with the dramatic single ruffle and I knew its lightweight fabric and looser fit would be perfect for the dog days of summer.
I pulled the top out this weekend for a day out in Spanish Harlem, wearing it with my trusty old black jersey maxi (cost unknown) and a pair of Michael Kors heels with rope straps ($12.99, Goodwill). For accessories, I borrowed Sunita V's vintage sunnies ($10) from ClosetDash, and added a gold Kendra Scott feather necklace ($2.99, Goodwill) that I recently found for sale on Gilt for $38 (originally $75). Can't beat that price comparison. Head to toe (minus the cost of the jersey skirt) this outfit clocked in at just under $28.
