While thrifting definitely accounts for the majority of my shopping adventures, every so often I'll come across a sample sale that's just too good to pass up. Last Thursday, Ladakh (pronounced "la-dark") held its very first U.S. sample sale in SoHo, and after checking out some of the Australian label's goods online, I was lured in by the prospect of edgy mini dresses and funky prints. I showed up with a friend after work, wearing a ruffled denim shirt I scored at the Buffalo Exchange in Midtown West for just $8, my white blazer ($7.49, Forever 21), black pants (cost unknown) and black belt ($6, NY&Co.).
After trying on a bunch of super cute items (only sample sizes 2-4 were available, so unfortunately, some things were just too tiny!), I settled on a strapless printed dress ($20), a fun, ruffled crop top ($15) and a drop-dead-gorgeous yellow and black maxi skirt ($15). With Ladakh's retail prices typically ranging from around $70-$100+ for dresses, $50-$100 for skirts and $30-$50 for tops, I considered $50 for one of each a pretty darn good deal. If you're hoping to get in on a future Ladakh sample sale, be sure to follow the label's U.S. outpost on Facebook or Instagram to get updates!
