Hi thrifters! I've been on hiatus for a few days, on a mini-getaway to my hometown in Indiana to catch up with old friends. Last Friday, I arrived at the Indianapolis airport, and my guy and I decided to stretch our legs and explore downtown Indy before taking on the hour drive to my old stomping grounds. We decided to check out the city's Canal Walk, which offered a peaceful waterside stroll, plenty of ducks and a few cool murals.
Since it was just an extended weekend trip, I tried to pack extra light, and went for a layered and super-comfy traveling look. I stayed casual with a thrifted Fashion's Night Out tee ($0.55) and added my thrifted gray-and-black scarf ($0.55), which were both scored as part of the same Buy The Bag haul. I also wore a pair of stretchy black pants ($20), and my leather riding boots from Aldo ($88), plus a super-warm black wool coat from Express ($54.39), which I purchased at the end of the season last year. (It doubled as a blanket on the plane ride!) In case it got really cold, I capped off with my $10 beanie (purchased from a street vendor) for good measure. Head-to-toe with shoes and coat, my practical travel 'fit came out to just under $164.
After checking out Canal Walk, we walked around more of downtown, and ended up grabbing lunch at a spot called Punch Burger. I ordered their "Burnt Cheese Burger," which combined the deliciousness of three slices of crisp, slightly-burnt cheese with all-natural beef and waffle fries. (Perfectly burnt cheese is the best cheese, by far.) Yum!
